2016 General Election
The 1Yi campaign contacted every GE 2016 candidate and requested the candidate supports 1Yi by signing the candidate declaration. To promote transparency, we have links to the Declaration cover letter and the Candidate Declaration that were sent to candidates. The Campaign presentation was presented at community meetings around the country.
The Constitutional Convention
The Convention on the Constitution was a forum of 100 people, representative of irish society and parliamentarians from the island of Ireland, with an independent Chairman. The Convention was established by Resolution of both Houses of the Oireachtas to consider and make recommendations on certain topics as possible future amendments to the Constitution. On the 27th August 2013, the convention voted in favour of people-initiated referendums becoming part of democracy in Ireland. The convention also voted in favour of public veto and public initiatives both or which are to two key elements the 1Yi objectives.
